Jeremy Huxtable – Managing Director

Mr. Huxtable is the Managing Director / CEO of Suntel Limited. In October 2000, he joined Orange International Telecommunications, UK where he served as CEO of Orange Sverige and latterly as Vice President of Strategy and Planning at Orange Denmark. His exposure to Sri Lanka came in 1996 when he was appointed by Millicom International Cellular as CEO of the mobile operator Celltel Lanka Limited. Mr. Huxtable was previously at Fortune City, UK as Vice President International Operations and General Manager for Europe. He had served at DHL Worldwide Express and performed in several senior appointments in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Bahrain.

Vajira Jayasinghe - Chief Technology Officer

Vajira commenced his carrier at Sri Lanka Telecom in 1982 as a Transmission Projects Engineer. During his 26 years service in Telecommunications and Data Communications Industry he has worked as an Exchange Maintenance Engineer at Saudi Telecom, Transmission Engineer and later as the General Manager Engineering at Celltel, Senior Wireless Engineer at CLEAR Capital Communication New Zealand, Product Manager Broadband Wireless (Asia Pacific) - Alcatel Australia and Senior Network Architect Telstra New Zealand. Vajira was also the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Celltel from 1994 – 1996 until the time of his departure from Sri Lanka to take up an overseas appointment. Before joining Suntel he acted as the Chief Technology Officer at Dialog Broadband Networks Limited.

Mr Jayasinghe a Chartered Engineer holds B.Sc. in Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) from the University of Peradeniya and holds a MBA from the Massey University New Zealand.

Hasitha Abeywardana - Director Sales & Marketing

GM-Customer Relationship Management. He counts 6 years of his previous experience at Suntel where he worked in Corporate Solutions. Hasitha holds a MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management. He holds Postgraduate Diploma from CIM(UK), also qualified from City & Guilds of London in Telecommunication subjects and he has followed a course at Institute of Technological studies in Electricity, Electronics and Computer applications. Currently he holds the position of Director Marketing & Sales.

Sanjiv Wijayasinghe - Director of Human Resource

Joined Suntel in January 2006. A Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka Inc. holds a Diploma in Personnel Management (Sri Lanka) and a Diploma in Agriculture Transworld College (Jersey) UK. A Senior Member of Chartered British Institute of Management UK, the Institute of Professional Managers UK and a Member of the Institute of Management Sri Lanka.

His past experience includes his career as the Senior Vice President Human Resource at Vanik Incorporation Limited – Managing Director and Director of several companies within the Group, General Manager HR & Administration Celltel Lanka Limited, Group HR Manager James Finlay's (Colombo) Limited, Personnel Manager Bartleet Group of Companies and as Associate Director Human Resource Development & Relief Rehabilitation in an INGO in Consultative Status Category II with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNESCO).

He served as a Member of the Executive Council of the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka for over 18 years and is a Past President of the Institute. He served in several professional committees including in the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka, the National Council of the YMCAs of Sri Lanka and the CIMA Sri Lanka Division. He also serves as a Trustee of the Incorporated Trustees in the Church of England in Ceylon.

Tariq Marikar - Director Information Technology

Tariq Marikar joined Suntel in June 2006 and is the Director of Information Technology. He was previously working as the Senior Manager, Business Control of the Electronic Banking Group of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and was based at CIBC Global Headquarters in Toronto, Canada. Prior to working on Information Technology for Retail and Electronic Banking at CIBC, Tariq worked on real-time Supply Chain Management systems design in the UK, at the IBM European Manufacturing Facility (IBM EMEA) in Glasgow, Scotland and at the Center for Process Systems Engineering of the University of London in London UK. He was an implementation engineer for the I2 Technologies Rhythm Supply Chain Planner product and worked in conjunction with the SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer Team at IBM EMEA as part of the team implementing the Just-In-Time Global Inventory at IBM.

Tariq, who is a Chartered Engineer registered with the British Engineering Council, holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with First Class Honours from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine of the University of London. In 1997, he also received his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering which was jointly examined by the University of London (Imperial College) and the Department of Engineering Science of Oxford University, UK. His PhD and post-doctoral work in London was on designing real-time controllers for constrained multivariable systems. Tariq is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (USA) a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society (UK) and is a certified Project Management Professional of the Project Management Institute, USA. Tariq also currently serves as the Co-Chair of Industrial Relations in the EXCOM of the Sri Lanka Chapter of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (USA).

Nilan Bulathsinhala - Director Finance

Mr. Nilan Bulathsinhala joined Suntel on 15th of February 2008. A product of St. Peter’s College Colombo started his career with Aitken Spence Co Ltd in 1984 and he was attached to the shipping and container division for three years. Thereafter he joined Ceylon Grain Elevators Ltd consisting 7 companies operating in Sri Lanka (the Local operation of the Prima Group of Singapore) in 1987 as a Cost Accountant and during his service of over 20 years in the company he served in several senior and strategic positions such as the Management Accountant / Finance Manager / AGM Finance / Head of Finance and finally as the Group CFO for over 3 ½ years. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants United Kingdom and is wide experience counting over twenty three years across the manufacturing, livestock, trading and service sectors.
